Unlike regular material handling conveyors that are designed for continuous operation of dry materials, these conveyors are specifically designed to handle light wet debris that runs intermittently.

These conveyors use Polyester Fabric reinforced PVC Belts that are best suited for working in harsh alkaline environments where natural rubber belting of most other conveyors gets soggy.

Due to its monocoque sheet metal design, the conveyor height can be as low as 330 mm.

In the Wastewater treatment plant where the conveyors are operated intermittently, the bearings of the support idlers frequently get damaged due to rust. In our conveyors, the belt slides over a flat sheet metal surface which supports the belt without any idlers.

Due to the low coefficient of friction that Polyester fabric has against steel, the power requirements for the screen are significantly lower than conventional conveyors.

Features

Lowest Height

These conveyors by virtue of its design take up an unprecedented 330 mm in height as compared to 700 mm - 1200 mm of a standard conveyor. This allows the selection of a mechanical screen that has minimal clearance for collected debris discharge. It can be retrofitted to most screen conveyors needs.

Advantages

  • Reduces the height of the corresponding screen height

  • Best suited for retrofitting on to existing sites

Chemically inert belts

Most conveyor belts are made out of various types of rubber, a material better suited to handle abrasion rather than chemical inertness. The rubber belts tend to degrade over time due to exposure to the alkaline environment that of sewage effluents that contain soap and detergent. To address this issue, conveyors use PVC as a base material with Polyester fabric Reinforcement and ply offering relatively high resistance to degradation.

Advantages

  • Better suited to alkaline medium

  • Longer belt life under harsh conditions

Reduced frequency of belt tightening or adjustment

Rubber Belts are prone to elongation of 5-8% over its lifetime and therefore requires frequent belt-tightening and adjustment to be carried out by skilled and knowledgeable technicians. PVC belts, however, do not elongate more than 2% over its lifetime. This means that belt-tightening and adjustments are less frequent.

Advantages

  • Lower Maintenance Costs

  • Minimal Downtime

Sheet Metal Construction

The Body of the conveyor is made from sections of folded sheet metal, unlike conventional belt conveyors which use structural sections such as angles and channels. The screen body could be made from a wide range of material and corrosion protection coatings. This feature enables the user to maintain better hygiene, corrosion protection and durability.

Advantages

  • Easy of Maintenance

  • Lower risk of corrosion-related damage

  • Better Hygiene

No Support Idlers

The Conveyor Belt in this design rides directly on a flat sheet metal bed. This is possible due to the fact that these conveyors do not run continuously and are always wet due to the nature of the collected debris. The absence of idler rollers to support belt means the problem of idler bearing failure which is a common occurrence with conventional conveyors used in wet and humid environments does not occur. Therefore the conveyors are silent when its running and does not require regular lubrication of scores of bearings.

Advantages

  • Low Noise Levels

  • Minimal greasing points
